OVERVIEW

About the book

Buck is a large and proud dog who lives an easy life on Judge Miller’s estate in the sunny Santa Clara Valley. Then gold is found in the frozen North, strong dogs are worth money, and a gardener’s helper sells him to strangers. In the Yukon Buck learns the law of club and fang. He pulls sleds through snow and ice, fights to survive and begins to hear something older than himself calling from the forest. Jack London wrote the novel in 1903 from his own time in the Klondike. It is a short and powerful story of survival.
