OVERVIEW

About the book

Mr Utterson, a lawyer, hears a story about a small, repulsive man who trampled a child in the street and then paid for it with a cheque signed by a respected name. The man is called Edward Hyde. Utterson knows the name. His friend Dr Henry Jekyll has left his entire fortune to this Hyde. Worried, the lawyer begins to follow the trail through the foggy streets of London. Robert Louis Stevenson wrote this short novel in 1886. Its title has become the words we still use for the good and the evil in one person.
